Ms. Gongsun’s practice focuses on real estate and general corporate law.
With over a decade’s experience practicing real estate, Ms. Gongsun has represented developers, real estate funds, construction firms, property management companies, condominium associations, and residential and commercial building owners and tenants in a wide variety of real estate related matters. She has represented Chinese Ultra-high-net-worth individuals and institutional buyers in acquisitions of hotels, office buildings, golf courses, strip mall, and commercial use vacant lands. She also routinely reviews and negotiates commercial leases for restaurants, spas, offices and warehouses.
Ms. Gongsun has been trusted by many Chinese companies and high net worth individuals as their general counsel and legal advisor in the U.S. Thanks to her knowledge and experience in a broad range of legal areas including corporate law, civil and commercial litigation, EB5 investment, fund formation and non-profit organizations. Ms. Gongsun routinely advises and represents Chinese entities, including publicly traded companies, state-owned companies, funds and foundations in setting up U.S. branches and subsidiaries with tax efficient structures, acquiring assets, drafting corporate documents, negotiating contracts and agreements, and resolving disputes. In addition to legal advices, Ms. Gongsun will go out of her way for her clients to pull strings, assemble resources, and make reliable references.
Ms. Gongsun has been actively involved in providing pro bono work to the local Chinese community. She is a frequent speaker at various seminars and forums including U.S. Small Business Administration’s Business Series. She acts as legal counsel to local business associations and volunteered as a pro bono attorney to Sanctuary for Families and offered her legal knowledge and services in the area of immigration, family law and child protection to new immigrants and low-income families. Ms. Gongsun also authored several articles for Chinese websites’ column on U.S. real estate and investment.
