Our summer program will expose you to the breadth of the firm's practice and the range of talents among its lawyers. By providing you with a realistic view of the firm through challenging work, practical training and the opportunity to work and socialize with many of our lawyers, we try to give you the insight you need to make an informed decision to join us after graduation or a clerkship.
Some of the highlights of our summer program include:
- Work Assignments. Challenging legal work assignments are similar to those given to associates. Review and feedback are provided at the conclusion of an assignment.
- Pro Bono Work. Summer associates are strongly encouraged to work on pro bono projects, which can provide the opportunity for client contact and court experience. Our pro bono coordinator provides many opportunities for pro bono work and training throughout the summer.
- Face Time with Clients. We encourage our attorneys to invite summer associates to attend depositions, mediations, closings, client meetings, trials and other business activities. We offer a series of presentations that provide opportunities to learn more about our different practice areas.
Research complex legal issues using primary and secondary legal source materials; Draft legal memorandum and other extensive legal documents for various immigration cases; Prepare legal analysis and argument and participate in strategy development; Prepare employment-based immigration and non-immigration visa petitions; Maintain current knowledge about legal, regulatory, policy, and procedure requirements as it relates to immigration law.
JD or LLM. Must have one year experience in preparing employment based immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions. Must be admitted in the New York State and in good standing.
Days/hours: Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 6:30pm, 40 hours/week
